damn, phd written paper...it's bad when i recognize most of those equations

that said, theory is great but real world is completely different. goes without saying, but if you're planning on implementing a lab proposed theory, do so at your own risk

to many variables in play taking something from a textbook to the asphalt. If you comprehend the text then you'll be able to use it as a guide to tune what you run. Throw the name Ackerman into the mix just adds to the pain when you toss it into the apex and you don't have your s*** right

Theory can be used to create advanced simulations and intelligent computer controlled race cars, and that still just gives us computer controlled cars that are not quite as good as humans:

and I welcome artificial intelligence with open arms.

So you are the one that is going to create sky net...

On a more serious note, reading theories and learning about the on paper physics of things just helps you develop your understanding of what is actually going on with your car when you do certain things with it. That extra amount of development of understanding can help you setup and drive your car better. Good read though.

Singularity - getting off topic but makes sense to me that machines/ai would be the next step in evolution. They'll be able to do what we do but better without an expiration date.

I once spent 3 months working on an equation for cornering only to find drifting, and trail braking make it useless.
