you can make the most of cloudy videos...look at every single top gear episode. some of the best cinematography ever. you can always to that vignette thing like your vtak photographer does to all his stills and what top gear made popular.

darn weather... i opted out of doing my suspension swap because i figured it would be pointless since the weather was going to be crap... now its not bad? anybody know where i can get springs for my MS6 today???

yes the hourly weather for sat looks like it's pushing the rain/light snow later into the evening it was at 1pm and now at 4pm, so i think we'll be fine and just as lucky as the last trip...

oh and does anyone have a lantern that works or an electric one...we needed one bad for the grilling last year.

I ain't forgot ye! Just off to a late start today, Lori and I had cold/flu all week and just getting over it. We're about to head across the Gap over to Maryville to eat a little Indian. I'll post up when we get to my friend's place over there about the road conditions, but I'm pretty confident it will be clear.

Re: Shooting video in cloudy conditions - Sunny/clear skies, especially this time of year when the atmosphere is very clear, makes for very harsh lighting. Shadows will be strong and distracting, and colors will be less vivid...everything takes on a stark, almost B&W look.

Most photographers/videographers use diffusers on their lights to scatter the light for a reason. Consider the clouds your very own giant diffuser. It evens the light out and makes colors more saturated. You can almost dive into those Scooby blues in the right light! (might want to manually set your White Balance to Cloudy if possible though)

Yea I'm tryin to stay away from the top gear vignette simply because it seems every car video uses it. There's a way to fix the sky in Color so I'll play around with that. I'd just like a sunny video, no biggie if its not, just personal preference

car is clean and ready for videos/pictures.

im bringing the wrx for sure now. cant wait. its gonna be a blast

well, guess im bringing the forester after all. i was just changing the oil and i was checking the car over and what do i find. my right rear coilover is leaking hydrolic fluid. the fluid is leaking from out the top of the coilover where you adjust stiffness and leaking down.

looks like ill be the grocery hauler this year
