which is why you don't rally a 30k car, you rally a 30$ car. Once the MR2 is fiscked I plan on running the three "local" rallies each of which costing around 500$. My buddy will also be running in them in his first gen RX7 | |

| i use to do the sn0*-drift rally in Michigan. even when i didnt break something it was expensive. multiple set of tires. spare turbo ,fuel rail, coil packs and various other parts. one would always die during the weekend. a trailer and a tow and support vehicle. Rally is hard on a car but its even harder when snow and ice is involved. | |

| Apparently it teaches car control well, but I despise "drift culture". | |

| Drifting is a lot of fun. It's funny when I hear people bash on it when they haven't tried it themselves. Some people think it's as easy as just spinning some circles with a welded diff. But once you start connecting corners, you have to really concentrate to make that car do what you need it to do. It's just like gripping in the sense that you are picking the best line through a series of turns. You want to maintaining front wheel grip while getting as much angle as possible without spinning out also while hitting outside and inside clipping points (kinda like the apex of a turn). I learned how to slide on the touge. But I highly recommend against that. Go to a drift pad and learn in the open space. Put cones out and make your own clipping points to go around. You will have a blast.. Also it's really not that expensive. grip guys buy expensive tires. drifters buy cheap tires. | |
